Fischer Elected To Missouri Corn Board
(JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.)—Brice Fischer of Rich Hill, Mo., was recently elected to the Missouri Corn Merchandising Council (MCMC) board of directors. Fischer began his volunteer service to corn farmers effective Oct. 1.
“I felt it was important to step up and get involved,” noted Fischer. “So often people are hesitant, and that keeps things from getting done. As growers, we all need to donate our time and efforts to improve agriculture, and I look forward to working with the board to create new avenues for the corn we raise.”
Fischer replaces Mike Moreland of Harrisonville, Mo., on the MCMC board of directors. He will be nominated to the Missouri Corn Growers Association (MCGA) board at the organization’s annual meeting in January.
“We’d like to welcome the newly elected growers to the board,” said incoming MCMC Chairman Clint Stephens. “It’s so important to bring in new voices and increase grower participation to help promote and advance the corn industry. It truly takes all of us working together to move forward and build markets for Missouri corn farmers.”
The MCMC board of directors is comprised of 14 farmers elected from across the state. This volunteer board was formed in 1984 with the passage of a corn checkoff and is dedicated to market development, research, and education. To learn more, visit www.mocorn.org.
