Position Announcement – Conservation Programs Manager
The position will develop and oversee efforts that promote soil, water and wildlife conservation approaches to Missouri corn and soybean farmers. A key objective will be to increase grower and/or landowner awareness and education about on-farm conservation and natural resources management strategies, seeking to increase the scale and/or rate of conservation practice delivery and adoption by row crop farmers in Missouri. Program efforts will also seek to integrate and connect the benefits of soil, water and wildlife conservation into a farm’s agronomic and economic goals. The employee will collaborate efforts and activities closely with strategic conservation partners, including the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service and the Missouri Department of Conservation.

Ideal candidates will have prior experience or familiarity in agronomic and conservation strategies that reduce nutrient and soil loss, improve water quality and soil health, implement the 4Rs, and improve wildlife and pollinator habitat. Prior experience or familiarity with state and federal agricultural cost-share programs or certification as a Certified Crop Advisor (CCA), as a USDA Technical Service Provider or other related field is preferred.
This full-time employee will work jointly with the Missouri Corn Merchandising Council and the Missouri Soybean Merchandising Council helping grow and manage conservation and sustainability programs.
