Scott Named Missouri Corn Growers Association President

(JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.)—Mark Scott of Wentzville, Mo., assumed the role of Missouri Corn Growers Association (MCGA) president effective Oct. 1. Elected during the organization’s August board meeting, Scott succeeded Kyle Kirby of Liberal, Mo.

Scott previously served the state’s growers as Missouri Corn Merchandising Council chairman, vice chairman, and treasurer as well as MCGA vice president. Scott also represents corn farmers nationally, serving on the U.S. Grains Council Value-Added Action team and previously sitting on the National Corn Growers Association Resolutions Task Force and USGC Middle East/Africa Action Team.  

“It is an honor to represent Missouri corn growers, and I want to thank Kyle for his contributions and leadership this past year,” said Scott. “With the tough growing season finishing up, it is all the more important to have a strong association working on behalf of corn growers to make positive changes. Coming out of a drought and facing low prices, we’ll keep pressing hard for a new farm bill, to maintain the Renewable Fuel Standard and to finalize trade agreements. It is vital we have adequate risk management resources and a strong export market for farmers to succeed.”
