Hull Elected To Missouri Corn Board

(JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.)–Jason Hull of Skidmore, Mo., was recently elected to the Missouri Corn Merchandising Council (MCMC) board of directors. Hull began his service to corn farmers effective Oct. 1.

“I look forward to serving growers in northwest Missouri and making sure their checkoff dollars are used responsibly,” noted Hull. “We’ve had great success building the ethanol market. I want to continue supporting those efforts and as well as new endeavors for our corn crop.”

Hull farms in Nodaway County alongside his father, growing corn, soybeans and wheat. He is president of the West Nodaway School Board and serves on the Nodaway County Farm Bureau board and the Graves Chapple Research Advisory Committee.

Hull replaces Kevin Hurst of Tarkio, Mo., on the MCMC board of directors. He will be nominated to the Missouri Corn Growers Association (MCGA) board at the organization’s annual meeting in January.

“Jason and his drive to improve agriculture in Missouri will be a welcome addition to the board,” said Missouri Corn Growers Association President-elect Gary Porter of Mercer. “He is willing to spend the time and effort it takes to be involved and tell the story of agriculture.”

The MCMC board of directors is comprised of 14 farmers elected from across the state. This volunteer board was formed in 1984 with the passage of a corn checkoff and is dedicated to market development, research and education. MCGA is a grassroots organization of more than 2,500 members dedicated to increasing the profitability of corn production through sound policies, continued market development and strong involvement in the political process.
