Versailles Farmer Named Missouri Corn Chairman

Posted on: October 1, 2024

(JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.)—Brian Lehman of Versailles, Mo., stepped into the role of Missouri Corn Merchandising Council (MCMC) chairman effective Oct. 1. Elected during the organization’s August board meeting, Lehman succeeded Matt Lambert of Laclede, Mo.

Lehman previously served the state’s growers as MCMC vice chairman as well as Missouri Corn Growers Association secretary/treasurer, and vice president. Lehman also represents corn farmers nationally, volunteering his time with the National Corn Growers Association Communication and Education Action Team and U.S. Grains Council Middle East/Africa/South Asia Advisory Team.

“With another harvest underway and corn yields looking strong, Missouri Corn’s mission to build markets and explore new opportunities remains key to grower success,” noted Lehman. “MCMC utilizes checkoff dollars to help push for increased demand for both corn and ethanol here at home and across the globe. Whether helping improve practices, feeding livestock, creating new ethanol markets, or working with partners to provide education, we are working hard for all corn farmers.”

The MCMC board of directors is comprised of 14 farmers elected from across the state. This volunteer board was formed in 1984 with the passage of a corn checkoff and is committed to market development, research, and education.
