Lambert Named Missouri Corn Growers Association President
(JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.)—Matt Lambert of Laclede, Mo., assumed the role of Missouri Corn Growers Association (MCGA) president effective Oct. 1. Elected during the organization’s August board meeting, Lambert succeeded Brent Hoerr of Palmyra, Mo.
Lambert previously served the state’s growers as MCGA secretary/treasurer and Missouri Corn Merchandising Council chairman, vice chairman, secretary, and treasurer. Lambert also represents corn farmers nationally, volunteering his time with the National Corn Growers Association Trade/Transportation/Animal Ag Action Team and U.S. Grains Council Trade Policy Advisory Team.
“There are a lot of challenges facing corn farmers right now,” noted Lambert. “From a pivotal election and new farm bill to increasing input costs, there’s no shortage of work to tackle. Luckily, while we’re busy in the field harvesting, the Missouri Corn Growers Association is actively advocating on our behalf.”
“I look forward to the year ahead and representing growers across the state when it comes to issues facing Missouri’s corn industry,” Lambert continued. “I want to thank Brent for his service and the entire board for the time they spend away from the farm to ensure grower voices are heard.”
MCGA is a grassroots organization committed to increasing the profitability of corn production through sound policies, continued market development, and strong involvement in the political process. To learn more, visit www.mocorn.org.
