Hunter Elected To Missouri Corn Board

(JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.)—Will Hunter of Bell City, Mo., was recently elected to the Missouri Corn Merchandising Council (MCMC) board of directors. Hunter began his volunteer service to corn farmers effective Oct. 1.

“I’m excited for the work ahead and proud to represent growers in southeast Missouri,” notes Hunter. “There are big shoes to fill with Clint retiring from the board, but I’m ready to dig in and tackle the issues to help push our industry further.”

Hunter replaces Clint Stephens of Advance, Mo., who served more than a decade on the MCMC board of directors. He will be nominated as a candidate for the Missouri Corn Growers Association (MCGA) board at the organization’s annual meeting in January.

“Serving growers not just in southeast Missouri, but across the state has been a great honor and really expanded my outlook on the issues impacting all of us,” noted Stephens. “We need strong voices willing to step up and put in the work. Will has been farming for years and I’m confident he will be a great fit for the corn board. His experience, combined with an interest in improving the industry, made him an easy choice.”

The MCMC board of directors is comprised of 14 farmers elected from across the state. This volunteer board was formed in 1984 with the passage of a corn checkoff and is dedicated to market development, research, and education. To learn more, visit www.mocorn.org.
