Missouri Corn Names New Chief Executive Officer

(JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.)—The Missouri Corn Growers Association (MCGA) and Missouri Corn Merchandising Council (MCMC) board of directors is pleased to announce Bradley Schad as the organizations’ incoming chief executive officer.

“This was not an easy decision, nor one that was made lightly,” said MCGA President Jay Fischer of Jefferson City. “After an extensive and thorough national search, it was unanimous Bradley has the heart and drive to continue Missouri Corn’s proud legacy. The opportunities are before us, and we firmly believe he has the deep industry experience and strong commitment to take our organization into the next chapter.”

A native of Versailles, Mo., Schad will assume the new role effective March 15, 2021. He will succeed Gary Marshall, who is retiring after leading the state’s corn industry for 34 years. Under the direction of the Missouri Corn board of directors, Schad will be responsible for managing the day-to-day and long-range approach of MCMC and MCGA, working in cooperation with the board, staff, and industry stakeholders.

Currently senior director of market development and grower engagement, Schad started with Missouri Corn in 2008, managing programs focused on ethanol and other market opportunities. He is a 2007 graduate of the University of Missouri, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Systems Management and minor in Agricultural Economics.

“It has been a great privilege to be part of such a phenomenal organization throughout my career,” noted Schad. “I’m honored to continue the long tradition of success established by our leadership, staff, and growers. I look forward to continue working to move the industry forward with new opportunities as they develop. Whether through policy, market development, or education, we remain committed to representing Missouri farmers on all issues impacting the corn industry.”

Formed in 1984, the Missouri Corn Merchandising Council is an organization of corn growers dedicated to developing and expanding corn markets, educating growers and customers, and exploring new research opportunities. The Missouri Corn Growers Association was formed in 1978 to protect the rights of its members, build new markets for corn and increase opportunities for Missouri corn farmers through sound public policy.
